Gayle Edwin Michael died April 30, 2004, at his residence in Kill Devil Hills.  He was a retired real estate broker.  He graduated from Duke University.  He was survived by two sons, Christopher Michael and Jeffrey Michael, a brother, Don Michael, and his significant other, Karen Austin of Kill Devil Hills.
